Library Advisory
Committee
The
Library Advisory Committee is a reporting committee of the
UCF Faculty Senate that was created to provide advice and
offer concerns to the Libraries concerning materials and
services needed by faculty, students and researchers in
their teaching and research endeavors. It also allows the
Libraries an opportunity to share and report on its
services, major events and trends in librarianship.
The
committee consists of fifteen members as follows: one
college dean, one department chair, nine faculty members,
one graduate student, one undergraduate student, a librarian
member of the Faculty Senate (ex officio) and the director
of University Libraries (ex officio). Each college is
represented by one faculty member with the exception of the
College of Arts and Science which has two faculty members.
Terms of membership are staggered and usually last three
years, with the exception of the student and library
representatives.
The
committee meets at least once each fall and spring semester.
The chair of the committee is elected at the first meeting
in the fall.
